Derby County have entered administration and as a result been deducted 12 points by the EFL amid ongoing financial problems at the club.

The league has already held initial constructive discussions with the administrators and says it will remain in regular dialogue with them as they seek to find the appropriate solutions required to assist the club as it navigates its way out of insolvency.

Derby, managed by former England captain Wayne Rooney, had taken 10 points from eight games so far, but now drop to the foot of the table, nine points adrift of safety.


UK Athletics has appointed former Scottish Athletics Chair Ian Beattie as its new Chair.

Beattie, who is also a Chartered Accountant and Chief Operating Officer of Lindsay Solicitors, was previously  a member of Portobello, Strathearn Harriers, Central AC and Troon Tortoises, serving on the committee of most of those clubs.

Beattie will work with outgoing Chair Nic Coward, the Board and the executive team on a managed transition basis over the next few weeks, taking the role on in full following the board meeting in October.


Northampton Saints have unveiled a new partnership, with the online menswear brand becoming the club’s first Trouser and Casual Wear Partner.

SPOKE will provide the Gallagher Premiership club with official post-match clothing for the first-team squad, coaches and performance staff – consisting of SPOKE’s signature Heroes chino and Pique polo shirt, all custom fit. 


PGA UK & Ireland have announced global wellness brand Therabody as its Principal Partner.

Therabody will share educational content with PGA Members on the benefits of its wellness technology devices and how the products can be integrated into golfers’ warm-up and recovery routines. 

In addition, PGA Members will gain access to Therabody University, the company’s education division, which offers accredited courses on how to effectively introduce its products into training and recovery routines.
