The EFL has confirmed that two Championship players have tested positive for COVID-19 as the league’s clubs return to training and in a bid to complete the season in English football’s second tier.
The league has confirmed that 1014 players and staff from all of the Championship’s 24 Clubs have been tested, with two of those tests coming back positive. The EFL has also confirmed that one club is involved in both cases.
The pair in question will self-isolate, while the EFL says that it will provide updates on future tests carried out and will announce any positive tests, however it will not release information on the clubs or individuals involved.
Everton have launched an International Academy Affiliate Programme, partnering initially with two clubs in the USA and one in Australia in a bid to expand its knowledge and expertise of player development processes.
The club says the affiliate programme is part of its wider international growth strategy, providing it with a wider sporting knowledge base as well as business best practice to improve sustainability and aid growth.
The club has partnered with Joondalup City FC, from Perth, Australia as well as US sides Columbus United, from Ohio, and Schulz Academy, from Florida.
Tyrrell’s – one of the brands owned by KP Snacks – has ended its sponsorship of the women’s Premier 15s.
The RFU confirmed that the brand has reviewed its sponsorship commitments, and will redirect its marketing spend in line with its business objectives.
The brand is the inaugural title partner for the league, and has been a partner for three years.
Anna Kessel has stepped down from the Women in Football board after 13 years – including five as Chair – and will take up an ambassador role for the organisation.
Kessel, who is Women’s Sport Editor, The Telegraph, founded Women in Football with Shelley Alexander in 2007. The organisation now has almost 4,000 members.

Javier Tebas has floated a possible La Liga return on 11th June, with Seville derby as the first game to take place.
The Spanish government has given La Liga the green light to go ahead from the week beginning the 8th June, with Tebas hinting that the derby match between Sevilla and Real Betis could be the only match to take place on the first night back with other fixtures happening across the weekend.
