Industry Shorts: England Hockey, London Marathon, Harlequins, Wiggle
Merchant Gourmet has partnered with England Hockey to launch a competition to visit the home of Great British Hockey and to gain expert insight into nutrition for professional players.
The 40 winners will get the opportunity to attend an exclusive hockey event at Bisham Abbey with Dr Rebecca Townsend, Great British Hockey Performance Nutritionist, and Merchant Gourmet’s TV chef and Guild of Food Writers award winning author, Alex Mackay.
The health brand is also offering the chance to win 200 ready-to-eat pulses, grains, seeds or chestnut pouches for participants’ local hockey clubs.
London Marathon Events has confirmed the headliners of the women’s elite field for this year’s Virgin Money London Marathon.
Defending champion Vivian Cheruiyot and the current TCS New York City Marathon champion Mary Keitany will both return in 2019. They join their compatriots Gladys Cherono (2018 BMW Berlin Marathon champion) and Brigid Kosgei (2018 Bank of America Chicago Marathon champion) meaning the winners of the last four Abbott World Marathon Majors will be on the Start Line in London on Sunday 28th April.
Harlequins has unveiled Singolo Vino as the “Official Supplier” of the club’s new Harlequins Online Wine Club, which seeks to “introduce fans to a different way of exploring and purchasing their wine.”
Harlequins claims the relationship with Singolo Vino is another example of its commitment to delivering value for supporters, with an offering that goes beyond the matchday experience at The Stoop.
Tri-sports retailer Wiggle has announced the launch of two new mass-participation events for 2019.
The Wiggle New Forest Sportive at the end of March and the Wiggle Festival of Sport in August will see thousands of participants challenge themselves across disciplines including sportives, open water swimming and trail running.
