Extreme E has announced British brand Coral Eyewear as its sunglasses supplier, providing products to Extreme E personnel during the upcoming Ocean X Prix in Senegal.
The brand creates a range of sunglasses created from discarded fishing nets, reusing some of the estimated 600,000 tonnes of nets that are abandoned in oceans every year.
The brand, with the support of Italian manufacturer Aquafil, harvests abandoned nets, turns them into pellets which are then moulded into frames for sunglasses and prescription eyewear.
Non-alcoholic spirit brand FLUERE, as part of its Principal Partnership with the Andretti United Extreme E team, has created a series of bespoke non-alcoholic cocktails to reflect the unique location the team will visit across the season.
Inspired by Lac Rose, which will host the second race of the Extreme E season, FLUERE label Raspberry Blend will sit at the heart of its non-alcoholic cocktail. Due to its high altitude and high salt content, algae in the natural water of Lac Rose turns pink. The brand has also mixed the drink with traditional Senegalese flavourings ginger and hibiscus infusions to create the first cocktail in the series.
With each Extreme E race visiting a distinctly unique part of the world, FLUERE says it aims to encourage people to ‘be in the moment surrounding each race’, pairing one of its labels with each location to host a race.
Meanwhile, the Andretti United Extreme E vehicle livery will be changed to reflect the hero label and signature non-alcoholic cocktail of the specific race.
