The FA has announced the names of a six-member panel who will recruit a new FA Chair, following the resignation of Greg Clarke.

The formal recruitment process will follow the principles set out in its Football Leadership Diversity Code, with hiring based on merit from a diverse talent pool.

The six-person board will include three people who are independent from the FA, and includes: Stacey Cartwright, Chair of the selection panel, Liam Rosenior, and Kate Tinsley (who are all independent of the FA), as well as Interim FA Chair Peter McCormick, Rupinder Bains, and Jack Pearce.

The role will be advertised in early December and remain open for four weeks before the shortlisting process begins. The FA says it will announce a recruitment partner ahead of the advertisement going live.

A new campaign from The National Lottery, ITV and STV – Miss Out To Help Out – has enlisted boxing promoter Eddie Hearn to encourage the public to miss out on their favourite TV shows and use that time to ‘help out’ in their community.

Hearn gave some of his time to participate in virtual volunteering for Sporting Memories, a UK wide charity set up to tackle dementia, depression and loneliness by using the power of sport. He joined 12 Sporting Memories Club members in an online session designed to use the joy of talking about and remembering sport to spark lively conversation and fond memories.

The Miss Out to Help Out campaign comes as a new report from The National Lottery shows that the work of volunteers is appreciated even more than usual due to the impact coronavirus has had on the UK.

NBA 2K funding will be made available to the City of Birmingham Rockets Basketball Club, who will become the first UK recipient of funding from the programme delivered by the game maker.

The club will rejuvenate its current facilities and offer more community programmes in 2021 as a result of the funding.

2K Foundations was launched in 2018 to support underserved communities across the United States by refurbishing basketball courts and offering enrichment programming in neighbourhoods that needed them most. The funding and support for the City of Birmingham Rockets marks the programme’s first project in Europe.
