KP Snacks has been announced as the new official team partner for The Hundred, the new competition launched by the ECB that is set to debut next summer.
KP Snacks has signed a long-term partnership, which will be designed to help grow cricket and get families active. A series of multi-channel marketing activities will be launched to promote the partnership, with the two parties to support KP Snacks’ ‘Our Taste for Good’ programme.
The Hundred will be a five-week tournament and comprise eight city-based teams from Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham, Cardiff, Southampton and two in London.
Amazon Prime Video is set to announce a sublicensing deal with BT Sport, through which the latter will provide coverage of the former’s Premier League matches in pubs this season.
BT Sport will market the package as the ‘Amazon Premier League Pass’, with pubs and clubs set to use existing set-top equipment to broadcast the games.
Amazon acquired rights for 20 Premier League matches per season from 2019/20 in June 2018. Amazon will broadcast two entire rounds of Premier League fixtures this season – the first round of December midweek matches and the Boxing Day programme.
Manchester City has celebrated the start of its 125th anniversary season with the launch of a commemorative kit that will be used during the Community Shield match against Liverpool on 4th August.
City also held a launch event at City Football Academy on Wednesday evening, with fans and invited guests given the chance to sample what the club has planned for the 2019/20 campaign.
A season-long fundraising initiative has launched to support City in the Community’s efforts to tackle social issues in Manchester. From the start of the 2020/21 season, a new five-year programme will launch to focus on children’s development.
The Community Shield kit is inspired by the club’s history and features specific design elements voted for by City fans. The crest features gold lettering denoting the club’s 125 years and the shirt does not feature a sponsor.
Sports and betting-related company Sportradar has signed an integrity services partnership with esports competition organiser Riot Games.
Sportradar Integrity Services will monitor the global betting activity taking place relating to domestic and international League of Legends esports competitions organised by Riot Games.
Sportradar Integrity Services will also provide Riot Games with access to its specialised Intelligence and Investigation Services unit as part of the agreement.
Golf’s Women’s British Open will be held at Royal Porthcawl in Wales in 2021, it has been announced.
The announcement was made ahead of this year’s tournament at Woburn Golf Club. Royal Porthcawl will stage the event after Royal Troon plays host for the first time in 2020.
Royal Porthcawl hosted Wales’ first ever major championship in 2014 when it staged the Senior Open.
