INEOS has announced that its hand sanitiser brand will become the Official Hygiene Partner of OGC Nice.
The company agreed a deal to take over the Ligue 1 club in 2019, and during the coronavirus pandemic it has built six new hand sanitiser factories around Europe and the United States.
Through Nice’s Endowment Fund, the sanitiser products have been given, free of charge, to Nice hospitals and community associations.
As the Gallagher Premiership returned, Maro Itoje paid homage to key workers by wearing a pair of personalised boots paying tribute to a select XV of hospital staff, care home workers and teachers across the UK.
The Saracens player collaborated with Camden-based graffiti artist Jane Fletcher to create a bespoke pair of adidas boots and share the pitch with members of the front-line workforce in London and the UK.
The design featured the names of fifteen nominated key workers alongside the words ‘Thank You’ in different languages, to highlight the diverse national health workforce. The heels, when placed together, formed a white and blue rainbow flowing across the city, in a symbol that has become synonymous with health workers.
Betfred has extended its title sponsorship of the World Snooker Championship for another year.
The betting brand first sponsored the tournament in 2009, and added another year to its partnership, which will now run until at least 2022.
The news came as Ronnie O’Sullivan beat Kyren Wilson in the final of the tournament to seal his sixth title at the Crucible in Sheffield in a match played out in front of a socially distant crowd at the iconic venue.
The ATP has made further changes to its revised 2020 calendar, which was suspended in March because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The season was meant to return with the Citi Open in Washington DC on 13th August, but the event was cancelled due to continuing uncertainties around the virus.
The ATP has now announced that the season will restart a week before the US Open in late August, with the final section of the season including the European indoor swing, culminating in the Nitto ATP finals in London.
The BBC has confirmed details of its coverage of Muller British Athletics Championships, held on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th September.
The showpiece championship, held behind closed doors at the Manchester Regional Arena, will see 100 metre sprint events held on the Friday evening on BBC Two. The Saturday afternoon coverage will see 200 metre finals take place, as well as coverage of the triple jump, with local rising star Naomi Ogbeta competing.
Welsh Cycling has announced safety app Busby as its Official Incident Detection partner.
Launched in 2019, the app offers incident detection features, as well as incident prevention and near-miss reporting functions.
The app has also partnered with What3Words and St John Ambulance to send an exact 3 metre x 3 metre location to guide emergency services to the scene of an accident, while the app can also let loved ones know if a rider has been involved in an accident.
