ITV has revived a creative contest it had originally planned to run ahead of UEFA EURO 2020 before its postponement last summer.

With the tournament scheduled for summer 2021, ITV Commercial has announced that the competition will take place, and will see one advertiser get a free ad spot during the tournament’s final, which will be held at Wembley.

In partnership with specialist ad-testing agency System1, ITV are issuing a call out to all advertisers, media agencies and creative agencies, to create an advert deemed to be the ‘most emotionally engaging’ and enjoyed amongst audiences.

The final deadline for entries will be 27th June, with the winner announced by 7th July, ahead of the final on 11th July, when the ad will run.

The Rugby League World Cup 2021 has appointed UK-based agency RDA to support the tournament on international media distribution rights.

The partnership with RDA will cover all markets outside of the UK & Ireland, including the ‘key territories’ of Australia and New Zealand.

In the UK and Ireland, the BBC will show every minute of every match live across their platforms, with both RLWC2021 and RDA working together with the aim of making the tournament available to more people than ever before across the world.

M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment has been named the UK PR agency for leading fitness wearable brand WHOOP following a competitive review.

The agency will lead a comprehensive communications program to elevate WHOOP and introduce the brand to the UK market, as well as lead on the global strategy from its New York office and launch in the German market. M&C Saatchi S&E will also lead on strategic global communications, media relations, thought leadership, and events.

The Boston-based company raised $100 million (£72 million) in Series E funding in October, and counts investment from a number of sporting figures including Rory McIlroy and Patrick Mahomes. The brand tracks sleep and recovery data in real time, and recently announced a multi-year partnership to become the official fitness wearable of the PGA TOUR.

The National Football Museum has announced the appointment of The FA’s Jane Bateman to its Board of Trustees as it forms a new partnership with the governing body.

The partnership will see the museum act as curator of The FA collection, working with The FA to conserve its historic collection at Wembley Stadium, aiming to celebrate and bring to life football’s history and heritage while engaging the public through joint initiatives.

Bateman, meanwhile, has led the International Relations team at The FA for more than 20 years, and is also a trustee of the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation and has also served as non-executive Director on the Board of the Sport and Recreation Alliance.
