Manchester City have filed an official appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against their ban from the UEFA Champions League.

The Adjudicatory Chamber of UEFA’s Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) ruled that the Premier League champions should be banned from the competition for two seasons and fined almost £25 million because of ‘serious breaches’ of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play and club licensing regulations.

The appeal, which has been officially received by CAS, comes after the club said it was “disappointed but not surprised” by the verdict, and promised to launch the appeal.

The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games has appointed Gi Group as the Games’ Official Recruitment Partner.

Games organisers say they plan to recruit 1,000 new members of staff to deliver the event, which is set to take place in July and August 2022.

Gi Group, whose headquarters is in Brindley Place, Birmingham, will provide end-to-end recruitment services for the Games, including job profiling and onboarding. It will also create an outplacement programme to assist Birmingham 2022 staff with finding their next career move from August 2022, after the Games finish.

Change robe manufacturers dryrobe has announced open water swimmer Keri-Anne Payne as new brand ambassador.

Two-time World Champion and Olympic silver medallist Payne retired in 2017 to found company Triscape, a scheme to help inspire more people to get into open water swimming.

Dryrobe, which designs after-sport change robes for the likes of Team GB, Red Bull and GoPro, says the partnership will help to inspire the next generation of open water swimmers.
