Ballon d’Or winner Ada Hegerberg has signed a ten-year deal to become an ambassador for Nike.
The 24-year-old has not taken to the field since a knee injury sidelined her in January, nor did she play at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2019, having withdrawn from the tournament in protest at the treatment of the national women’s team by the Norweigan Football Federation
The Lyon star joins the US sportswear giant having previously been with Puma.
Tennis coaches on the ATP Coach Programme, in collaboration with the ATP, have launched a series of exclusive fan experiences in support of coaches affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The initiative will give tennis fans the opportunity to bid for experiences such as private coaching sessions with top coaches Ivan Lendl, Goran Ivanisevic and Patrick Mouratoglou, with sessions set to take place onsite at 2021 ATP Tour and Grand Slam events. Winners’ prizes will include a combination of match tickets, premium hospitality and behind-the-scenes access.
A three-week bidding window will take place in June, with future rounds and experiences to be announced. Funds raised will be allocated by the ATP Coaches Committee to support the members of the ATP Coach Programme, whose ability to work has been impacted by the pandemic. Part of the proceeds will also be donated to a global coronavirus relief fund.
Swimming charity, The Swimathon Foundation, has announced the award of grant funding to over one hundred swimming clubs, swimming schools and independent aquatic organisations, through its Covid-19 Relief Fund.
The foundation says it has boosted its original financial commitment from £30,000 to £50,000 because of the large number of applications received.
The grants awarded are for small swimming and aquatic organisations who have suffered short-term financial hardship due to the pandemic.
A group of senior brand marketing names have formed a new consultancy agency group, Leverage Marketing Advisors (LMA).
Based around the world, the agency’s senior management team includes the likes of Omar Khan, Roger Duthie, Mark Ingall, Tim McGhee and Steve Fund.
