The Premier League fixture between Newcastle and Aston Villa,due to take place on Friday night, has been postponed after a coronavirus outbreak at the Newcastle training ground.

As a result of the infections, Newcastle lodged a request for the postponement, which was accepted by the Premier League and supported by Villa.

The news marks the first Premier League match first to be postponed due to coronavirus cases since the league restarted in June after a three-month hiatus.


The IOC has confirmed that President Thomas Bach will be unopposed for reelection when he stands for a second term.

The election will be held during the IOC Session in Athens in March 2021, before the President will take office after the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. If re-elected, Bach’s term will end in 2025.

UK-based video technology company StreamAMG has appointed Mark Silver as its new General Manager, North America. 

Prior to joining StreamAMG, Silver founded Stadium Digital where he licensed SaaS products to more than 100 professional and top amateur sports properties across North America. 

He also spearheaded Canadian broadcaster CTV’s digital efforts and its record-breaking streaming coverage of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, and served as CTV’s Head of Digital for London 2012. Following the Olympic successes, he was appointed Head of Digital for ESPN’s Canadian affiliate, TSN, where he transformed the broadcaster’s digital output, including the launch of its streaming service.
