SailGP, alongside its partner Oracle, have launched Winning Calls – a new seven-part series of virtual events providing an insight into how the series’ national teams make strategic decisions during races.

SailGP’s Winning Calls with Oracle will launch on 28th May, and will run from May through to November with monthly episodes.

The first instalment will feature the most decorated Olympic sailor and Great Britain SailGP Team helm Sir Ben Ainslie who will star alongside data analyst Emily Nagel, Great Britain SailGP Team CEO Chris Draper and SailGP Director of Technology Warren Jones. The group will explore how the Great Britain SailGP Team presented by INEOS convincingly won Sydney SailGP 2020.


Gfinity has launched a new digital media arm within the company, Gfinity Digital Media, as well as a new ecommerce platform, Gfinity Plus.

The company says the move will build on its online and social media growth over the last six months, and will diversify its revenue streams.

Gfinity has also announced that Talal Musa, who has been responsible for its online and social channels, has been appointed Head of Gfinity Digital Media. He will oversee the development of the company’s owned websites, as well as being responsible for delivering on revenue opportunities.


England Netball has announced the cancellation of the Vitality Netball Superleague 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Netball in the country has been suspended since 15th March, and England Netball says the decision has been taken to protect the long-term future of teams as well as ensuring the league can come back in the 2021 season.

Despite the cancellation, England Netball has confirmed that both it and the VNSL Board are looking into holding a standalone short-form VNSL competition or potential event in the autumn if it is both achievable for the league and safe to host.


Formula E driver Daniel Abt has been sacked by Audi after enlisting a professional esports player to race in the electric racing series’ Race At Home Challenge.

The driver was fined €10,000 (£8,900) for the incident, but has subsequently been let go by his team. He confirmed the news in a statement posted to his YouTube channel.


Northampton Town has announced hummel as the club’s new Technical Partner from the start of the 2020/21 season.

The Danish sportswear brand recently announced a new deal with Premier league side Everton to replace Umbro as its Technical Partner. 

With Northampton, hummel will manufacture kit and training wear for the first team, as well as the club’s Academy, Development Centres and Ladies and girls teams.


Warwickshire County Cricket Club has extended its partnership with Birmingham-based digital agency Class Creative to create a new bespoke website.

The new website brings the club’s domestic teams – Warwickshire CCC and Birmingham Bears – plus Edgbaston Stadium’s major matches together, while a second new platform aims to showcase Edgbaston’s conference and events business as well as non-cricket events. 

The new website developments part of a three-year commercial partnership between Warwickshire CCC and Class Creative.
