Sebastian Coe has been re-elected as IAAF President.
The former Olympic gold-medallist and Conservative MP was unanimously returned as President after a unanimous vote on the eve of the IAAF World Championships in Doha which begin on 27th September, and after the IAAF Congress had voted to back an extension of the suspension of Russian athletes competing at the championships under their own flag.
Team England has named Mark England as its Chef de Mission for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
England will also serve as Team GB’s Chef de Mission for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, having taken on the role in 2014. He lead the country’s athletes through Rio 2016, their most successful games since 1908. Team GB finished second in the medal table behind the USA.
Saracens will launch a wheelchair rugby club, in partnership with sponsor Allianz.
The new club will provide opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities in north London and Hertfordshire and allow them to take part in competitive and recreational sport, as well as providing both adult and junior training programmes.
Arsenal has announced Science in Sport as the club’s Official Sports Nutrition Supplier.
The organisation will supply the Premier League club with its products throughout the season, while also providing analysis on which products will help improve player performance.
