Obstacle course and endurance brand Spartan has partnered with Welcome to Yorkshire for its inaugural event in the county.

This is Spartan’s first entry into the North of England, while the weekend-long event is set to be held at Castle Howard on 5th and 6th September. The event is expected to attract 10,000 entrants from around the UK, contributing to the Yorkshire’s local economy. 

Spartan’s partnership with Welcome to Yorkshire aims to inspire the county to achieve their fitness goals. The pair have highlighted a report by Kantar Public, which found that as much as 37% of the UK population never exercise or play a sport, with just 13% saying they do so regularly.


The FA is to restrict heading for all age groups up to under 18, according to multiple reports.

The new guidelines, which are yet to be released, are understood to restrict heading the football, but not ban it completely.

Last year, a University of Glasgow study – commissioned by The FA and the Professional Footballers’ Association – found links between heading and dementia, with former footballers three-and-a-half times more likely to die of degenerative brain disease than the general population in the same age bracket.

UCI Women’s Continental Cycling Team DROPS has announced ONE PRO Nutrition as its Official Nutrition Partner.

ONE PRO, set up by former England cricketer Matt Prior, will provide the team – which includes five Brits on its roster for 2020 – with its entire range of products and accessories in training and racing throughout the season.
