UK radio station talkSPORT is launching a new apprenticeship scheme to find three young people to become members of its production team.
The apprentices will undergo an 18-month placement receiving training in journalism and radio skills at PA Training, part of PA Media, before completing a rotation in three different departments across the talkSPORT network, with the media outlet aiming to offer full employment to the apprentices at the end of the placement.
Applications open on September 28, with the successful applicants starting in December 2020
News UK has appointed Jenny Smith as its new Client Sports Director.
Smith joins from Volvo UK, where she served as Head of Events, Sponsorship & Communications, having previously spent 13 years at Jaguar Land Rover, working across sponsorship and brand partnerships. In May, she took part in Sport Industry Spotlight: Partnerships where she joined a panel of experts exploring the core foundations behind successful brand partnerships in sport.
The BBC is to screen a new documentary featuring four people whose lives were changed by training for the RideLondon-Surrey 100 race.
The Fixing Challenge is a follow-up to Fixing Dad, a documentary about two sons who aim to help their father reverse his type 2 diabetes. It follows the journeys of four challengers who take on the race with only six months to improve their health.
They each have a history of chronic conditions including diabetes, obesity, cancer and depression but attempt to complete the race.
Charlton Athletic have announced partnership with iPRO which will see the brand become the League One club’s Official Hydration Partner.
The two-year partnership will see iPRO provide a range of drinks to the club’s men’s first-team, women’s team and under 23 sides.
The partnership follows the news that the club was officially taken over by Danish-American businessman Thomas Sandgaard.
