The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 has announced Technogym as its Official Supplier of Fitness Equipment and Digital Technologies for athletes’ preparation.
Technogym will equip 30 training centres with 1,200 pieces of equipment, which will be made available to 15,000 athletes prior to and during the Games. Main locations will be in the Olympic and Paralympic Village, but others will be located at additional competition venues with a wide range of equipment, specifically designed to meet the athletic preparation needs of the different disciplines.
Tokyo will be Technogym’s eighth Games as an Official Supplier, having first signed up to provide fitness equipment at Sydney 2000. Since then it has equipped both Winter and Summer Games.
YouTube has announced a deal to stream Activision Blizzard’s esports titles.
Overwatch League will move from Amazon’s Twitch to Google-owned YouTube, while the new Call of Duty League will also be screened on the platform. The deal is said to be worth $90m.
British technology company McLEAR has become a Foundation Partner of the One Running Movement.
McLEAR will support the movement, which offers non-competitive, virtual and live cumulative running events for schools, across its event portfolio in 2020 and beyond with the aim of inspiring future generations to embrace physical activity.
Super League Triathlon has announced a boost to its online content output with a new fortnightly online show to be broadcast on YouTube and Facebook from a purpose-built set at the league’s London offices.
The show, entitled Power Up, will feature guests interviews, news updates, features and competitions. It will be fronted by a team of presenters including triathlon coaches Raya Hubbell and Annie Emerson, as well as sports broadcaster, Dave Rogers.
Sportradar has signed a new deal with US lottery and gaming services provider INTRALOT.
The US-facing deal will see the sports data intelligence company provide INTRALOT with pre-match and live data, including the official data feeds from major US leagues. In turn, INTRALOT will supply this data to lotteries in the US including Washington DC, Montana, New Hampshire and New Mexico.
Sky has unveiled a new channel. Sky Documentaries, which is set to launch with Tiger Woods: The Comeback, the story of the 15-time major champion’s victory at the 2019 Masters tournament.
