Industry Shorts: Tottenham, Amazon, The Jockey Club

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly partner with online retail giant Amazon in a deal which will see them launch a new club store.

The move comes after the launch of a new All or Nothing docuseries featuring the Premier League side, following the club throughout the truncated 2019/20 season, which is hosted on Amazon Prime Video.

Amazon has also launched similar online stores for the likes of Bayern Munich in the past.


Delia Bushell has resigned as CEO of The Jockey Club after an independent inquiry upheld allegations of bullying, racist comments and the circulation of offensive material.

Bushell tendered her resignation from the role she had taken up in September 2019, but in doing so expressed her ‘shock and sadness’ at her ‘treatment by The Jockey Club’ and decried the ‘flawed and biased’ investigations process.


Novak Djokovic has stepped down as the President of the ATP Players Council in order to launch a new tennis players association.

The new body – which, for now, includes only male players – aims to increase player power, but faces opposition from the likes of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal who remain on the ATP Council. Meanwhile, Britain’s Andy Murray has also called for WTA representation in the new association.


UCI President David Lappartient has said a new women’s Tour de France will take place in 2022.

According to Lappartient, French ASO will launch a women’s version of the Grand Tour, however no details have yet been released on what the name would be or where it would appear in the calendar.
