London-based esports and electric vehicle motorsport organisation Veloce has secured a multi-million pound cash injection from private investors which will see it merge and expand its business in the esports sector as well as in Extreme E.

The new-found investment coincides with a merger of Veloce Racing, which will compete in the inaugural Extreme E championship, and Veloce Esports. Both entities will now become part of the overarching Veloce banner ensuring a shared vision for the brand in the future. 

Among the investors are ex-CEO of Lloyds Development Capital, Darryl Eales, former Liberty Global Executive, Eric Tveter, renowned Russian-born scientist, mathematician and entrepreneur, Andrei Cheglakov and Andy Webb, former CEO of Marussia F1.


The EFL has deducted 12 points from Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, with the punishment to take effect from the start of next season.

The Hillsborough-based club was found to have breached the league’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules. 

Wednesday finished 16th in the Championship table, eight points above the relegation zone.


Emeli Sande has become the first artist to perform on the roof of Wembley Stadium.

The Brit-award winning artist performed the FA Cup’s historic anthem Abide with Me from the top of the national stadium ahead of The Heads Up FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Chelsea. 

The pre-recorded performance took place beneath Wembley’s 133-metre-tall arch and was played within the stadium bowl ahead of kick-off at the event.

Sande also performed the hymn at the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.


Sportswear brand Ellesse has branched into golf, signing a new partnership with retailer American Golf.

The Pentland-owned brand has created a new golf apparel and footwear range, which will launch this week with American Golf and will be available in-store and online.


AC Milan has announced that EA SPORTS has become a Premium Partner of the club.

The Serie A giants have announced a multi-year partnership with the game creator which enables both brands to deliver entertainment for their global audiences. The move means the AC Milan team and its iconic San Siro home stadium will only be available to gamers on EA SPORTS FIFA.


Football Index has extended its partnership with Nottingham Forest to continue as the club’s Principal Shirt Partner for the 2020/21 season.

The deal continues to represent a club-record sponsorship for the Championship side, and will see Football Index’s logo appear on first-team kits as well as on adult replica shirts for the forthcoming campaign.
