Wigan Warriors have unveiled a new partnership with make-up brand War Paint For Men, which will become the Betfred Super League club’s inaugural Training Kit Partner and Official Men’s Health and Wellbeing Partner.
The brand’s logo will feature on the front of the first team squad’s training kit, and will create a range of campaigns and programmes set to address mental health as part of the partnership.
Founded by Danny Gray, a body dysmorphia sufferer and men’s wellness advocate, War Paint For Men is a specialist men’s makeup brand seeking to break the stigma of makeup being exclusively for women by helping men feel comfortable and confident.
Formula 1 has announced that it will debut a new Sprint Qualifying format at three Grands Prix throughout the 2021 calendar, after the FIA reached an agreement with F1 and all 10 teams on the grid.
The new format will take place at two European venues as well as one non-European venue this year, with the locations still set to be announced.
The move would create a new way of qualifying for the traditional Sunday race day, with drivers battling it out over 100km on the Saturday afternoon, with the result then deciding the starting grid for the next day’s full distance Grand Prix. READ MORE
LimeLight Sports Club has announced an Official Partnership with JustGiving across its portfolio of 7 major sporting events.
The partnership aims to ‘convert more participants into fundraisers’ by combining LimeLight Sports Club’s events with the charity donation platform, and the pair say this will help to raise more money ‘than ever before’.
According to LimeLight, some 100,000 people are expected to take part across its events in 2021, while it aims to raise £5 million for over 400 different charity partners.
The London based mass-participation events company currently runs the ASICS London 10K, London Triathlon, London Duathlon, Blenheim Palace Triathlon, Etape Caledonia, Hackney Half marathon and Oxford Half marathon.
Lancashire Cricket has appointed Angela Lowes as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Joining on 1st June, Lowes will be part of a ‘comprehensive induction and handover period’, before heading up a restructured finance department at the Old Trafford club from 1st October, when current Finance Director Lee Morgan leaves his full-time position after 16 years at Lancashire.
Lowes previously spent 20 years at Sunderland, having joined as a Financial Accountant in 2000, before becoming Finance Director in 2010.
The LTA will offer key workers free tickets to the grass court events it will hold in the lead-up to the Championships, Wimbledon this summer.
The governing body for tennis in Great Britain says that more than 1,000 tickets will be made available to key workers across its four major events – Nottingham, Queens, Birmingham and Eastbourne – in recognition of the efforts to tackle the pandemic.
Tickets will be offered to key workers local to each event venue from the NHS, local police force and fire service, local transport workers and other local authority workers.
The tournaments are expected to go ahead in front of a reduced capacity of 25%, however the LTA says the number is subject to government and Public Health England guidance.
Online football publisher Goal has joined forces with FIFA fan community and FIFA Ultimate Team database Futhead – owned by the network of fan sites, Fandom – to co-produce Tuesday Night Football, a new online FIFA tournament in which 16 professional FIFA players compete weekly.
The pair will build on an initial Tuesday Night Football series run by Futhead since 2019, with the new event beginning on 27th April and premiering on the Futhead Twitch channel and Goal’s digital platforms.
It is set to continue as a regular Tuesday night fixture each week, awarding $1,000 in prize money, with tournaments planned in Europe, North America and South America.
The Turmeric Co – founded by West Brom and Wales forward Thomas Hal Robson Kanu and produces turmeric shot drinks designed to aid sports recovery – has announced a new partnership with League One club Plymouth Argyle, becoming the Pilgrims’ Official Turmeric Supplier.
The partnership, which will last until the summer of 2022, will see the League One club’s players given access to The Turmeric Co’s range of products. The brand will also feature throughout Plymouth’s social media channels, as well as sponsoring their EFL post-match interviews.
