Industry Shorts: World Rugby, Nissan Formula E

World Rugby has said that it will revert to announcing two Rugby World Cup hosts at the same time when it comes to awarding the 2027 and 2031 editions of the tournament.

Both the 2015 and 2019 hosts – England and Japan respectively – were announced together in 2009, while France was given the 2023 tournament in 2017.


Online trading provider CFI Financial Group has partnered with Nissan e.dams Formula E team for the next two years.

The deal comes after Nissan e.dams driver Oliver Rowland worked individually with the firm, and is now expanded to a team partnership in a bid to further improve their brand awareness.


News UK has named Cashcade and Gaming Realms founder Simon Collins as the company’s new MD, Betting and Gaming.

In his new role, Collins will oversee the development and growth of News UK’s gaming brands such as Dream Team and Sun Bingo.


Coral has announced Prostate Cancer UK as its charity partner in a three-year deal.

The bookmaker will aim to raise funds as well as awareness for the charity which was voted in as the company’s charity partner by Coral staff. 


Esports communications consultancy The Story Mob has appointed former NBA Europe Associate Vice President Maik Matischak as Head of European Sport and Partnerships.

Maik, who has previously worked with EA SPORTS and tech company AMD, will be based in Berlin and will lead The Story Mob’s expansion into sports and partnerships as well as developing strategies for traditional sports and brand entities active in esports.
