ING is believed to be closing in on the title sponsorship of the Belgian Grand
Prix as part of a €100m annual investment in Formula One.

The move from the financial services brand, which would begin from next
year, would mark the third major F1 sponsorship that ING has signed in recent
months.

It has already tied up a title rights deal for the Australian Grand Prix and
a three-year naming rights contract with the Renault F1 team. ING is also a
track sponsor at 13 of the races over the course of the F1 season.

The Belgian GP has been restored to the F1 calendar for the 2007 season after
new organisers Spa-Grand Prix agreed to improve the track’s infrastructure at an
estimated cost of £25m.

The 2007 race is due to be staged at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit on Sunday
16 September.

ING’s decision to invest €100m annually in Formula One solely in sponsorship
rights fees came after the brand reviewed a number of global sports properties.
The firm recently took the decision to align all of its subsidiary divisions
under the main ING brand and consequently needed a global platform from which to
communicate this change.

ING refused to confirm that it was taking up the Belgian Grand Prix title
rights.
