The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has released a new short film ahead of the forthcoming Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
With Beijing 2022 due to commence on 4th February, the intention is for the film to highlight the “power of solidarity”, as well as the motto, ‘Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together’.
The film, continuing the Games’ broader ‘Stronger Together’ message, aims to shine a spotlight on the unique relationship between Olympians and their followers across the world. People watching around the globe mirror the athletes’ movements, demonstrating the impact of this human connection.
The IOC said the film seeks to demonstrate that “through every rise, every fall, every victory, we’re in it together”.
A story voiced by former US skier Lindsey Vonn, who won three medals at the 2010 and 2018 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and Sochi, respectively, “amplifies” the power of sport and the Olympics to unite people and communities across the globe, the IOC added.
The film is directed by Salomon Ligthelm – a self-taught filmmaker who has won awards for his work across the world – and produced for the IOC in collaboration with Uncommon Creative Studio.
Beijing 2022 is scheduled to run from 4th to 20th February.
