Car brand Isuzu, an official partner of the WRU, and new Wales coach Wayne Pivac teamed up to deliver kit to rugby charity SOS Kit Aid in person ahead of the festive period.
Pivac arrived at the Principality Stadium to present a delivery of old national team kits to the charity, which gives young people the opportunity to play and enjoy sport.
A year of kit collections around Wales culminated in the “Big Pick Up” handover from the company at the Principality Stadium, which marks the end of a campaign which saw the brand visit clubs from across the country to collect kit for SOS Kit Aid.
Commenting at the handover, new coach Pivac said: “I am delighted to be able to hand over this kit to SOS Kit Aid as part of Isuzu’s Big Pick Up campaign and hope that it can be used to provide many more people the opportunity to get involved in sport”
Head of Marketing for ISUZU UK, George Wallis, reflected: “Whilst Wales have had a fantastic year on the pitch, we have been pleased to travel across Wales collecting kit to be donated to a hard-working and relevant charity in SOS Kit Aid. We know that each piece of kit makes a difference and introduces rugby to children around the world.”
The event also celebrates a successful year for the WRU, one in which Wales were crowned Guinness Six Nations and Grand Slam champions, as well as making it to the semi-finals of the Rugby World Cup in Japan.
