ITV and Eurosport have secured deals for next month’s Tour of Britain cycling race, with both broadcasters to show three hours of live coverage from each of the eight stages plus a one-hour daily highlights show.

British Cycling revealed the news in a statement on Friday for the race – title sponsored by Friends Life – beginning in Liverpool on Sunday 7th September and due to finish in London on 14th September.

The route, unveiled in April, will be the longest ever, including the hardest summit finish to date

ITV and Eurosport have both provided live coverage of the Tour de France for many years.
