Cycling’s Tour of Britain has signed its first nightly highlights TV rights deal after agreeing a contract with ITV.
This year’s Tour, which begins on 7th September, will have a daily highlights show on ITV4 aired between 8pm and 9pm each night.
Energy company E.ON sponsors the Tour, but as yet there is no sponsor for the highlights package.
The programme will be presented by Ned Boulting, while former world and Commonwealth cycling champion and BBC Olympic commentator Hugh Porter and Anthony McCrossan will commentate on the action.
The race lasts a week, starting in central London and finishing in Liverpool on 14th September, taking in 15 venues, including Milton Keynes, Worcester, Hull and Glasgow over eight stages.
Team GB’s Beijing Olympic medallists Bradley Wiggins, Geraint Thomas and Chris Newton are all slated to take part in the event.
