Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) entertainment brand, BAMMA, has announced a new broadcast deal with ITV, which could see the sport appear on the broadcaster’s flagship channels in the future.

Kicking off the new partnership later this month, BAMMA will become the first MMA promotion to broadcast on the ITV network when BAMMA 33: Scope Vs. Lebout is broadcast live from Newcastle on ITV4 on 15th December.

BAMMA was launched in 2009 and is home to elite fighters from around the world.

ITV4, launched in 2005, brings BAMMA to a platform that already includes coverage of horse racing, French Open tennis, the Tour de France, live international and Europa League football, live boxing, PDC Darts, snooker and motor sports.

BAMMA managing director Ashley Bothwell commented: “With BAMMA 33: Scope Vs. Lebout on 15th December we will, together with ITV, aim to bring MMA to an unprecedented number of homes in the UK.

“We can’t think of a more perfect domestic TV partner for the BAMMA brand and believe this deal signifies a significant public and industry acceptance and recognition of mixed martials arts.”
