Jaffa Fruit has signed up to support Sky Ride, a series of family cycling events hosted by British broadcaster Sky and British Cycling, as an official partner.
The partnership will see Jaffa Fruit attending ten locations along the Sky Ride tour and helping to refuel and refresh with its easy peel clementines.
The company’s aim is to generate awareness of its brand by associating with a series that last year attracted over 146,000 participants across 16 events.
As part of the citrus fruit producer’s awareness-driving sports partnership with this summer’s events, Jaffa Fruit promotional staff will hand out easy peel clementines and other products to almost 100,000 cyclists and spectators at ten UK cities hosting the Sky Ride tour.
Marius du Plessis, the general manager of Mehadrin, the owners of Jaffa, said: ‘We are thrilled to announce our position as official sponsor. The Sky Ride events not only present a key opportunity to activate a highly targeted, awareness building PR campaign, it also offers a strong sampling occasion, giving consumers the chance to try our citrus fruit while enjoying a fantastic day out.’
The activity is being amplified by food and sport specialist agency Mercieca, who will be managing a menu of supporting media activity, which will target audiences through a variety of family, regional and digital press, including a partnership with kid’s newspaper First News.
