NFL team Jacksonville Jaguars has released a free online playbook to introduce the UK to its version of touch American Football, JagTag.
The Florida-based side are the only NFL team to have committed a yearly game in the UK, and has created JagTag specifically as a simplified version of the sport for the side’s new fans across the Atlantic.
The Jaguars are looking to grow NFL in the UK and the JagTag playbook has been designed to explain the game to people of all ages, and includes illustrated guides, tips, videos and expanded rules once fans have mastered the basics.
JagTag was launched last month in London as the team welcomed more than 700 people to London Fields, Hackney for JagTag Live. The event featured on-field coaching sessions where fans could play JagTag for the first time.
Laura Oakes, Jacksonville Jaguars UK director, said: “The Jaguars’ commitment to the UK extends further than playing our Wembley home game. We want to help people in the UK enjoy the sport of American football and, importantly, understand it. JagTag offers people of all ages and ability an entry route into the game and, by growing understanding of American football, we hope to see even more people getting behind the Jaguars and following the NFL.”
