Fresh from taking centre stage with Sanjay Patel, Managing Director of The Hundred, at the penultimate Sport Industry Breakfast Club of the year, broadcaster and media consultant James Pearce gave an exclusive communications skills masterclass to the 2019 Sport Industry NextGen Leaders.
The session, held at Sport Industry Group’s headquarters in Central London, gave an overview of how to communicate effectively in professional life. The Sport Industry NextGen Leaders were given practical tips on delivering their key messages in an engaging and memorable way as well as learning how to cope under pressure and responding to tough questions in a pressurised environment.
The skills learnt were transferrable into multiple aspects of leadership, including delicate meeting situations, competitive pitches, personnel management and of course dealing with media.
James Pearce has been a BBC broadcaster for more than two decades, but these days devotes most of his time to running his media training agency – JP Media Training. His clients include the England football teams, the British Olympic and Paralympic teams, NHS England and a sizeable number of FTSE 100 executives.
