New Year fitness challenge, Jantastic, is set to launch for 2015 with a number of new partners including Macmillan Cancer Support, Strava, Virgin Money Giving, England Athletics, Triathlon England and Tribesports.
In 2014 Jantastic saw over 21,000 people log 356,000 runs and cover in excess of one million miles, and has set ambitious goals for 2015.
The aim for Jantastic is to see 100,000 people signing up to kick-start their New Year fitness and health programme, covering a total of 5 million miles of activity.
For the first time, Jantastic participants will be able to set fitness targets in running, cycling and swimming (or a combination of the three) and will also have the option of raising money for charity as they commit to their fitness challenges.
Martin Yelling, co-founder of Jantastic, said: ‘Our goal is to be the ‘go to’ New Year’s fitness campaign, with participants challenging themselves by making and meeting personal health, fitness and performance targets that can bring about life-changing results. Jantastic is free to participate in, can be done in your own time and own your own terms, making it suitable for everyone. I’m delighted to be working with some great new partners for 2015, all of whom share our vision for Jantastic.’
Anna Gray, participation programme manager at England Athletics, added: ‘England Athletics are delighted to be supporting Jantastic again in 2015. This is a great challenge which inspires people of all ages, abilities and aspirations to start running or take their running a step further. It is wonderful to see people set and then attain their own personal goals! We hope to see many people getting involved again or for the first time this year.’
The 2015 Jantastic Challenge will open for people to sign up from 1st December 2014 with the challenge itself beginning on 5th January 2015.
