Crystal Palace FC has agreed a two year stadium partnership with sports fashion retailer JD.
Ahead of the Premier League club’s first home match of the season against Arsenal on Sunday, first team players Wilf Zaha, Yannick Bolasie, Jason Puncheon and Alex McCarthy were on hand to help launch the new relationship.
The new agreement follows a memorable year for both parties – with JD recently opening its biggest flagship megastore on Oxford Street, whilst Crystal Palace secured their record highest finish in the top flight.
JD’s new connection with the south London club will give the brand “extensive” exposure within the stadium, according to an official release.
To celebrate the launch JD offered one fan attending Sunday’s game the chance to win trainers for a year, with a JD promo team positioned outside the stadium before the game.
JD group marketing director, Stephen White, said: “The club has made great strides in recent seasons and Alan Pardew is continuing to build a very exciting young squad, one that is a great fit with JD. The atmosphere created by the fans has become iconic over the recent seasons and we are delighted to be associated with Crystal Palace.”
Crystal Palace chairman, Steve Parish, added: “We are really pleased to begin our partnership with JD Sports as our stadium partner and look forward to working with the leading sports fashion retailer as they continue building their strong brand across south London.
“We believe they are an ideal partner to be joining our strong corporate family as together we will strive to improve on a successful past year for both brands and look forward to another successful season on and off the pitch.”
Sunday’s game was won 2-1 by Arsenal, thanks to an own goal by Palace’s Damian Delaney.
