JD Sports Makes Spanish Move
Spanish football club Real Valladolid has announced UK sportswear retailer JD Sports as an official sponsor for the 2022/23 season.
JD’s new agreement with the La Liga club will run until 2024, however, the value has not been disclosed.
Under terms of the agreement, the ‘Blanquivioletas’ will have the brand’s logo on the sleeve of its shirts and will also benefit from visibility across the club’s 28,000-capacity José Zorrilla Stadium.
The move is JD’s first entry into the Spanish football market after recently securing Premier League agreements that included an extension of its stadium deal with London-based Crystal Palace and a shirt sleeve sponsorship deal with Southampton FC.
JD joins Real Valladolid’s three other main sponsors, which includes global sportswear and fashion brand adidas. Estrella Galicia and Herbalife Nutrition complete the club’s roster of major partnerships.
Real Valladolid kicked off its La Liga season on Saturday 13th August with a 0-3 loss to Villarreal.
