M&C Saatchi Merlin has announced the signing of QPR central midfielder Jermaine Jenas, who joins a high profile sport and entertainment roster which also includes the likes of Mo Farah, Andrew Flintoff and Jamie Redknapp.

The 31 year-old, who will be managed by Katie Lydon, helped QPR return to the Barclays Premier League last season after beginning his professional career at his hometown club, Nottingham Forest.

Following a £5 million move to Newcastle United as an 18 year-old, where he won the PFA Young Player of the Year Award in 2003, Jenas had stints at Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa before joining QPR in 2013. He also accumulated 21 England caps and was part of the World Cup squad in 2006.

Chairman Richard Thompson commented: ‘As an agency we are focused on the development of talent who transcend their sport, Jermaine is articulate, intelligent and credible, and we are delighted that he has decided to join us’.

M&C Saatchi Merlin was formed in January last year after acquiring a majority stake in Merlin Elite and has since gone on to acquire three60 Sports Management.

This summer also saw the agency add Olympic snowboarder Jenny Jones and motor racing legend Nigel Mansell CBE.
