Jerry Newman Joins Facebook

Facebook has appointed Jerry Newman as the lead for sport across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Newman joins Facebook from Chelsea where he has served for eight years as head of digital marketing and CRM.

In his new role he will be responsible for sport partnerships with teams, players and sport media organisations across EMEA and be based at Facebook’s London offices.

Jerry starts the role on 16th July 2016 and will report to director of media partnerships, EMEA, Patrick Walker.

On a Facebook post, Newman said: “After eight years at Chelsea Football Club I’ll be leaving at the end of June. It has been an honour and a pleasure to work for such a great club. I’ve learnt and achieved so much in my time and I’d like to thank everyone at the club and in the sports, media and digital industry for all their support across the years.

“From one prestigious organisation to the next, it is with great pleasure and excitement that I will be joining Facebook as the lead for sport across EMEA. I can’t wait to get started and look forward to supporting my friends and colleagues in the sports and media sector as well as delivering great experiences on Facebook and its platforms for passionate sports fans.”
