The Jockey Club, which owns 15 racecourses in the UK, has teamed up with 17-time Champion Jockey, Tony ‘AP’ McCoy, in an effort to help promote Britain’s second largest spectator sport over the festive period and launch racing’s first ever interactive advent calendar which offers giveaways including thousands of free tickets.
The Jockey Club’s ‘Gift of Racing’ offers its first gift to unwrap online on Saturday 1st December. Every day in December up to and including Christmas Eve a festive treat will be offered, including thousands of free tickets, exclusive videos, unique competition prizes, festive recipes, money off offers for Christmas presents and festive games.
AP McCoy, said: ‘Everyone is in good spirits over Christmas; it’s a great time of the year to go racing. It’s a fantastic day out for the whole family and something people look forward to. One of the highlights of the jumps season is the William Hill King George at Kempton Park Racecourse and one I always look forward to.’
Paul Fisher, group managing director of Jockey Club Racecourses, added: ‘The Christmas period is packed with top-class racing action right through December, including four of our courses racing on Boxing Day and then we start 2013 in celebration with our New Year’s Day fixtures. It’s fantastic sport and a great day out for family and friends. This is also a time for giving, so we’ve launched our largest ever promotion through our ‘Gift of Racing’ calendar. Every day has a different gift, including exclusive videos, ticket offers, money off Christmas shopping, festive games and much more. There’s something for everyone to enjoy.’
