Jockey Club Secures Strong 2013 Fixture List

Jockey Club Racecourses, the largest racecourse group in the UK, has secured a strong programme of fixtures in 2013, according to next year’s British racing fixture list – published by the sport’s governing body, the British Horseracing Authority.

The Jockey Club’s 15 racecourses, which include Aintree, Cheltenham and Epsom Downs, will host 361 fixtures, representing a quarter of the British racing calendar, after The Jockey Club – whose profits go back into British racing – secured an additional three fixtures for 2013 (24.6% from 1,464 total), an increase on the 358 fixtures it was programmed to stage in 2012.

Paul Fisher, group managing director, Jockey Club Racecourses, said: ‘We’re pleased to have secured a strong programme of fixtures for 2013, which includes increases on both the Flat and Jumps.’

‘It means once again Jockey Club Racecourses will offer something for everyone all-year-round and nationwide.’

‘We are proud to be the largest contributor to prize money and through staging a quarter of the British racing calendar in 2013, once again we will be able to demonstrate this commitment to reinvest in our sport.’

The Jockey Club’s racecourses are: Aintree, Carlisle, Cheltenham, Epsom Downs, Exeter, Haydock Park, Huntingdon, Kempton Park, Market Rasen, Newmarket July Course, Newmarket Rowley Mile, Nottingham, Sandown Park, Warwick and Wincanton.
