npower Winter Wonderwheels has announced that Paralympian Jonnie Peacock will join its next mass participation event, as part of the Superhero Series.
The second event in the Superhero Series, a new sports series for the UK’s 12.9 million people with disabilities, npower Winter Wonderwheels will see npower team captain Jonnie join over 600 participants of all ages and abilities on 3rd December around Dorney Lake in Windsor.
Jonnie will be joined by 15 Paralympians and TV personalities, including Adam Hills, Sophie Christiansen at David Weir, who are all taking part.
With the support of headline sponsor npower and its other partners, Superhero Series aims to tackle this barrier and attract a new audience to mass-participation sport by throwing out restrictive rules and regulations and creating a fun environment.
Peacock commented: “My experience on Strictly [Come Dancing] showed me more than ever that all activities are open and available to people with disabilities. That’s why I jumped at the chance to support the Superhero Series as I know that participation will improve self-esteem and I’d love to encourage more people to be physically active in their everyday life.
“There’s a long way to go, but I feel privileged to partner with npower Winter Wonderwheels as part of a very special journey.”
