Sunset+Vine has commissioned Jump to produce the full visual identity for its new Football League highlights show ‘Football League Tonight,’ debuting this weekend.

The visual identity created for Football League Tonight features on screen match graphics as well as everything from the title sequence and break bumpers to stings, wipes and animated logo loops.

Coming to Saturday nights on Channel 5 throughout the season from August, the new programme will feature every single goal from matches in all three divisions of the Sky Bet Football League.

Jump was the official visual graphics supplier for the BT Sport Industry Awards 2015 in May.

As Football League Tonight will showcase every goal from all three divisions in the league, the on screen match graphics – such as the match idents, league tables and score straps – have been supplied as a kit of parts that can be updated to allow each league to have its own bespoke version.

Jump said in a statement: “For the titles, Jump took the position that Football League is ‘football for genuine fans’ – so instead of creating a graphic logo, we took it upon ourselves to design and build an oversized physical logo and, rather than animate a logo resolve, engage with real fans and shoot them building the logo in a real stadium.

“Throughout the sequence we see fast paced shots of fans travelling to a game, dressed in a multitude of league kit colours and carrying with them corresponding coloured letters. Shot over two days we covered multiple locations, both indoor and outdoor, to generate a busy sequence heavily populated with supporters of all kinds from all over the country. Complex wardrobe changes, eagle eyed production and complex storyboarding meant we could re-use extras throughout – allowing us to keep the shots as heavily populated as possible.”

Sunset+Vine will also produce eight one-hour highlights shows covering the action from each round of the Capital One Cup, for which Jump has created another version of the title sequence and logo, designed to match the lettering of Football League Tonight.

46 editions of the 90-minute highlights shows will be produced per season, broadcast at 9pm on Channel 5 on Saturday nights.
