The Sport Industry Group is delighted to announce that Kantar Media has extended its partnership with the BT Sport Industry Awards, the flagship celebration of commercial achievement in British sport.

Kantar Media, which has supported the industry’s flagship event since 2011, will remain the Official Research Partner of the Awards and is also backing the Best Sponsorship of a Team or Individual category, last year won by BSkyB for its work with the GB Cycling Team (pictured above).

The agreement continues a strong partnership built on the BT Sport Industry Awards’ role in encouraging best practice and the development of ground-breaking actions in sponsorship and the commercial world of sport – aspirations and ambitions that Kantar Media brings to its clients on a global basis.

Richard Brinkman, Global Head of KantarSport, commented: ‘The BT Sport Industry Awards is a fantastic platform for us to demonstrate to the business leaders in sport some of the wider-reaching solutions we can bring to help inform better decision-making through our access to the thinking, know-how and tools across the Kantar and WPP group.’

We are lucky to be working in some phenomenally exciting markets on a global scale but, every year, the innovative and impressive work coming straight out of London and the UK continues to impress us, and we’re proud to continue our association with this incredible body of work.’

Nick Keller, Chairman of the Sport Industry Group, added: ‘Kantar Media’s partnership with the BT Sport Industry Awards and their involvement in the months of work building up to the ceremony continues to grow year by year. Through their industry-leading research and support we have made some genuine changes to our process as we continue to improve the event.’

Kantar Media once again provided advice for those entering the BT Sport Industry Awards this year, helping brands and agencies get the very best out of the fantastic work that has been on show over the past 12 months.

The BT Sport Industry Awards ceremony – to be held at Battersea Evolution in London on Thursday 8th May – will once again be a sell-out event, bringing together 1,750 key influential figures from across the world of sport.

The Judging Process for the BT Sport Industry Awards will involve the contribution of more than 50 industry professionals across more than 60 hours, with the entire process overseen at all times by Deloitte, the Official Independent Scrutineers of the BT Sport Industry Awards.

BT are the Headline Partner of the BT Sport Industry Awards. Official Partners include Barclays, Deloitte and Eurosport
