After withdrawing from the 2009 MotoGP championship, Kawasaki may face with legal action to resolve issues surrounding the empty slots that it created on the brink of the new season.
Pulling out for financial reasons, Kawasaki left two places open, leaving little time to fill them with the season starting in April.
Marco Melandri and John Hopkins, which formerly rode Kawasaki vehicles, are now without seats and the Japanese manufacturer’s contract with Dorna – which holds the commercial rights for MotoGP – doesn’t run out until 2011.
MotoGP boss Carmelo Ezpeleta has claimed if no other solution can be found, Kawasaki may have to be brought to court.
