Leicester Tigers have announced a new deal for Kooga to become the club’s official kit supplier for the next six seasons.

Kooga’s deal to provide kit to the English rugby side starts from the 2015/16 season through to 2022. The deal could be worth up to £4.5m over six years.

Kooga’s managing director, Andrew Ronnie, described the multi-million pound agreement with the Premiership club as a “defining moment for the brand”.

Ronnie commented: “This is a substantial signing for Kooga and we are extremely excited about working with Leicester Tigers. It’s a sign of where we are as a brand that we can work with clubs as big as Leicester Tigers, one of the biggest and most recognisable rugby brands in Europe. At Kooga, we pride ourselves in manufacturing quality kit for all levels of the game and this deal is a statement of intent from us.”

This new high-profile partnership comes after a number of prominent announcements for the Manchester-based company, having just completed a deal with the Uruguay squad for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Leicester Tigers will join a growing stable of Kooga-sponsored clubs including Scarlets, Worcester and Yorkshire Carnegie as well as rugby league side Huddersfield Giants.

Andrew Ronnie continued: “Kooga is deeply ingrained within the sport; we are a brand that provides high-quality, durable equipment that is made for rugby. Our new partnership with one of the most recognisable and well supported rugby union teams in Europe is a further sign that Kooga is committed to supporting rugby at all levels of the game – from amateur to elite.”

Leicester Tigers chief executive Simon Cohen added: “We look forward to working with Kooga over the course of the next six seasons and we’re sure our supporters are equally keen to see the designs of the new kit ahead of the 2015/16 season.”
