Lagardère Sports has announced it has signed an exclusive media rights deal with the International Netball Federation (INF).

The sport marketing agency becomes the first agency to ever represent the INF and will commercialise and distribute international media rights from 2018 to 2023, beginning with the 2019 World Cup in Liverpool next July.

The agreement also includes the 2023 World Cup – as well as Fast5 tournaments, the Youth World Cup and World Cup qualifiers.

Nikolaus Von Doetinchem, executive vice president – media, Lagardère Sports said: “With the increasing impact of women’s sports and particularly the success Netball has seen over the last few years, it’s the perfect time to begin commercialising the INF’s media rights.

“Thanks to recent, high-profile Netball performances, such as England’s dramatic win at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, interest in the sport has never been higher and we’re looking forward to providing fans with more of the action from the court.

“We’re delighted to be working with the INF at such an exciting time to build the global visibility of the sport whilst maximising value for our partner and Netball fans across the world.”

Clare Briegal, chief executive officer, INF said:  “We are excited about our new partnership with Lagardère Sports; together we will build the profile of netball, promote our fantastic role models and thrilling world class events.

“We look forward to building stronger relationships with broadcasters and delivering enhanced value for our sponsors and partners around the globe.

“Netball World Cup Liverpool 2019 is less than a year away and provides the perfect launching point for this exciting new collaboration.”
