Legal & General has announced its second annual Not A Red Card Awards* to celebrate businesses and individuals that have developed and implemented best practice around mental ill health in the workplace, and this year, in partnership with thinkBeyond, has launched the Innovative Use of Sport Award to recognise the important role of active lifestyles in helping companies better serve their employees.

The awards are the second time that the Not A Red Card campaign celebrates mental health initiatives in business and will be open to organisations of all sizes, who have demonstrated how they have helped tackle the issue of mental ill health in the workplace.

The award categories are:

•                Innovative Use of Sport Award

•                The Collaboration Award

•                Best Mental Health Initiative – both SME and larger companies’ category

•                The Inspiration Award

•                The Leadership Award

Rowena Luscombe, Senior Strategist, thinkBeyond, said:

“We are increasingly seeing more of our clients becoming aware of, and wanting to help address, mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. At thinkBeyond we help our clients to do purpose driven work, by using the power of sport, health and wellbeing to raise awareness of important issues.

“Targeting our support to the workplace not only helps individuals within the workplace, but also helps businesses to become stronger and more effective with healthy employees.

“We are delighted to be working once again with Legal & General on Not A Red Card and the awards play a major role in this campaign. We urge businesses of any size to enter an award that reflects their efforts in supporting positive workplace mental wellbeing. Giving them  the  chance of getting recognition for the good work already happening in this space.”

Award winners will be announced at the Not A Red Card Forum on Tuesday 1 October 2019, at the Oval, London and the closing date for applications is on 9 August 2019.
