Legend Holidays & Events has appointed Clare Morton to the newly created position of director of events.
Morton joins from Mint Event Management, which she co-founded in 2004. Whilst there she played a key role in helping the company develop its three operating areas of testimonials, charity fundraisers and corporate events.
Over the last decade she has successfully delivered sporting events around the world, with a particular focus on rugby, cricket and football. Clare brings this invaluable sector expertise and a list of corporate contacts to Legend’s events team.
Prior to setting up Mint, Clare spent over six years in The Economist’s Hong Kong and London offices, where she managed political conferences and economic-focused roundtables across Europe and Southeast Asia.
Caroline Ayling, Legend’s MD, said: “Clare Morton brings a wealth of experience, creativity and leadership to the Legend events division. Having worked closely with Clare over the last four years, we’re proud and excited that Clare will be joining the Legend team full time from April. We know that she will be instrumental in growing our high profile work in this area, from this July’s family-focused Vitality SportFest and our signature dinners to tailored experiences, adding even greater value to our events in the process.”
With sport at the heart of Legend’s holidays and events, the team has built a reputation for hosting sporting events including fundraisers, gala dinners, family sporting festivals and corporate family days in some of the sporting world’s most iconic venues. The division is proud to have been shortlisted in the Best Entertainment Experience category at this year’s BT Sport Industry Awards.
