Leicester City has announced a new scheme that aims to increase the involvement of the fans, which includes allowing them to vote on what will go on the club’s shirt.

Next season City will dispense with a corporate main club sponsor. Instead, the fans will be asked to decide what goes on the front of City’s shirts for the 2009-10 season – for both home and away games.

This announcement confirms that Leicester’s sponsorship agreement with Topps Tiles will come to an end at the completion of the current season.

In addition, the club has also promised a whole new range of supporter benefits, privileges, schemes and competitions designed to bring supporters closer together with the club.

The aim to unite fans and players coincides with the club’s 125th anniversary and chairman Milan Mandaric’s vision to build relationships with supporters and the local community.

City will shortly announce the details about how Foxes fans can vote for what they feel should go on the front of the home and away strips for next season.
