Over 100 businesses attended the launch of Project V, a new corporate cycling challenge in Canary Wharf developed by engagement agency, Limelight Sports. The inaugural event will be staged in London with up to 40 teams competing on a 1k circuit on 17th July.
Competing teams will get a full sporting experience from training, to team selection at qualifying, through to race day.
From March through to May, competing teams have access to a digital training pathway providing support and tools for teams, in addition to training days with a professional coach during May.
Once selection has taken place, training events will be provided for 24 members of each team at a central London location. Together with ambassador Shane Sutton, the teams will receive motivational guidance, strategy advice, competition techniques, take away training drills and a networking opportunity over lunch and drinks.
The first competitive element to the event process will be qualifying to determine the final eight racing positions plus two reserves in each team.
At the event final, teams of eight riders compete against the clock and the opposition to complete four 1k laps on closed roads in Canary Wharf.
British Cycling coach, Shane Sutton OBE (pictured) commented: ‘Project V provides a fantastic platform for businesses to combine sport with team building and networking opportunities. The event is open to all; whatever your level within your company or cycling ability, this event provides ample opportunities to get involved and work with your team to deliver your business goals both on and off the road.’
Craig Dews, chief executive at Limelight Sports Group, commented: ‘We are delighted to officially launch Project V to 100 of London’s top businesses. Project V provides a unique opportunity for businesses to invest in their staff and drive performance not only on the track, but transfer those strategic and team building skills into business opportunities.’
