LIV Golf has named Adam Harter as the new Chief Marketing Officer of the international golf series.
Harter joins the Saudi-backed tour from PepsiCo, where he held multiple executive positions throughout his 22-year tenure, most recently serving as SVP of Media, Sports & Entertainment.
Having already taken office, Harter reports directly to LIV Golf CEO and Commissioner Greg Norman, and has been given the brief of overseeing all marketing activity within the organisation. This includes the development of the league and team brands, as it aims to expand its global fanbase.
In his previous role, he presided over a number of key partnerships for the soft drinks brand. These included major sports leagues the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL, as well as basketball icon Lebron James, and two of the US’ largest sports teams in the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees.
Harter’s arrival comes marks the latest personnel acquisition for LIV Golf, after the league recently appointed David Phillipps as its Chief Financial Officer last month.
Now in its third season, LIV Golf’s 2024 campaign comprises 14 events across eight countries.
Harter commented, “I’m thrilled to join LIV Golf at a dynamic period in the league’s history and the history of the sport.”
“LIV Golf is already well-known for its groundbreaking innovations for golf and driving global fan and partner engagement that is unique in the sports landscape.
“I can’t wait to build on LIV’s early success and continue developing global league and team brands that will be recognised around the world. LIV Golf’s future is extremely bright, and the opportunities are endless.”
Greg Norman added, “Adam brings a unique, world-class set of skills and experience that will bolster LIV Golf’s ongoing work and create incredible new opportunities to develop our league and team brands.
“The addition of executives like Adam will help expand and deliver on the league’s long-term goals as we continue to reach fans across the world in new and exciting ways.”
