In exactly four weeks today, the sport industry will gather once again for the next edition of the Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club, featuring Liverpool Football Club’s managing director, Ian Ayre, and owner and president of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, Mark Wilf, on 26th September.
Wilf is in town to see his team take on the Pittsburgh Steelers at Wembley Stadium just days after speaking at the exclusive networking event, in a landmark year for the sport, which sees two regular-season games played in the UK for the first time with the Jacksonville Jaguars also hosting the San Francisco 49ers in October.
Meanwhile, Ayre has seen his side set off to an impressive start to the 2013/14 campaign following two wins from their opening two games, and are yet to concede a goal in the league. Resting a number of key players, Liverpool also saw off Notts County 4-2 in extra-time of the Capital One Cup second round on Tuesday.
As well as making progress in the transfer market, Liverpool FC have been making moves in the industry too, with a partnership portfolio including brands such as Standard Chartered, Warrior, Chevrolet, Carlsberg and EA Sports.
Ayre and Wilf will take the stage at Bloomberg’s central London headquarters in the footsteps of the likes of Mark Cavendish, Barry Hearn, David Collier, Barbara Slater, Richard Scudamore and Ian Ritchie, who have all previously spoken at the quarterly event. Following the September edition, the fourth and final Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club will see a collection of leaders responsible for some of the biggest events in the world, all of which are coming to the UK in the next few years.
The panel, on 6th November, will feature Brian Barwick, Chairman of the Rugby Football League and former CEO of the Football Association; David Grevemberg, CEO of Glasgow 2014; Debbie Jevans, CEO of England Rugby 2015 and former Director of Sport for London 2012; and Ed Warner, Chairman of UK Athletics.
