Liverpool FC have expanded their global television service after agreeing new deals with broadcasters in nine territories around the world, which entitle each network to show footage from recent Liverpool games as well as exclusive behind-the-scenes programming.

The 18-time League champions worked with Pitch International to secure the partnerships, the duration and financial terms of which were not disclosed.

Deals were announced with BeIN Sport in Hong Kong, the Middle East and France; Kompass in Indonesia; Sony in India; Sommet in New Zealand; TV2 in Norway; Arena TV in the Balkans; Go TV in Malta; and with 365 Media in Iceland.

Liverpool chief financial officer Matthew Baxter said of the deals: ‘It’s fantastic that the club has been able to secure the new host of TV partnerships, allowing passionate Reds to watch the heroes they love.’

‘One of the club’s main aims is to extend engagement though our various media with the millions of fans across the world, so that they feel part of the Liverpool FC family, and these deals are another step in that direction.’

Henri Kamerling, the head of sales at Pitch International, added: ‘We are delighted to be working with Liverpool FC on this project. These wide-ranging deals represent the first steps as we work with the club to deliver their key content to their fans around the world.’

Last week Liverpool also expanded its global presence with the signing of its first regional sponsorship deal in India, confirming a three-year deal with Xolo, who became the official partner in the smart mobile devices category.
