Premier League club Liverpool are seeking for potential investors before the end of the season so the club’s plans for a new stadium can get back on track.

The club has had to put plans to move from Anfield to a 60,000-seat arena at Stanley Park on hold due to lack of funds.

The new stadium is a key part of a plan to boost revenue for the club, its current stadium Anfield only holds a capacity of 45,000, meaning they are behind in terms of ticket revenue with their rivals.

Managing director Christian Purslow said; ‘There are interested parties and I would like to get it sorted out before the end of this season. Without investment there won’t be a new stadium.’

Their current ground, Anfield, has been home to the Reds since their creation in 1892 and the original plan was to vacate the stadium at the end of this season.

Joint owners Tom Hicks and George Gillet have come under much criticism from the fans after it was revealed that the club has large outstanding debts, hence the need for financial backing if the club is to move to Stanley Park.
